GTFP Eligibility for teaching positions and conditions

The Global Teaching Fellowhsip is open to Doctoral Candidates and Recent Doctoral Graduates of Central European University only.

Who can apply:

CEU Doctoral Candidates who are in their third year of doctoral studies or beyond, and have the written endorsement of their doctoral supervisor and the director of the doctoral program

Recent Doctoral Graduates who have received a doctoral degree from CEU not earlier than 2 years prior to application for a Global Teaching Fellowship

All Candidates are encouraged to complete the CTL Program for Excellence in Teaching in Higher Education and other courses offered by CTL before taking on a Fellowship.

The Fellowship consists of a monthly stipend to cover all living costs, accommodation, travel costs and health insurance.

Global Teaching Fellows can have no other work or researcher affiliation with CEU during the time of teaching via GTFP.

A Global Teaching Fellowship can last one academic semester, or two consecutive academic semesters. Every CEU PhD candidate/graduate can teach under GTFP only once.

Selection process of GTFP positions at international partner institutions:

1. Eligible applications are collected by the GTFP Office at CEU

2. Application documents are shared with the GTFP representatives of the partner institution

3. The partner instituton appoints a committee, who reviews the documents and conducts interviews

4. The partner institution's representative informs the GTFP Office at CEU, and the applicants about their decision

Selection process of GTFP positions at Hungarian partner institutions:

1. Eligible applications are collected by the GTFP Office at CEU

2. As part of the application applicants submit a provisional acceptance letter from a head of department/future supervisor of the respective Hungarian partner institution where they apply

3. Application documents and acceptance letters are shared with the GTFP Selection Committee for Applications to Hungarian Partners, who reviews the applications and decides on the distribution of GTFP grants

4. The GTFP Office at CEU informs the applicants and the partner institutions about the results
