OSUN CEU Global Teaching Fellowship Program at the University of Debrecen Institute of English and American Studies (IEAS), Debrecen, Hungary.
Call for applications for the (whole) academic year 2024/25 (September 2024 – June or July 2025), one semester of the academic year, Fall 2024 (September 2024 – January 2025), and/or Spring 2025 (February 2025 – July 2025).
The IEAS University of Debrecen invites applications for Global Teaching Fellowships to teach at the University of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary. The successful applicant will teach introductory and advanced courses in the English language.
IEAS does not list courses that are available for teaching but marks out wide fields of studies in which the institute seeks Fellows. These are the following: literary studies, cultural studies, history, gender studies, social studies, linguistics, applied linguistics, cognitive sciences, and business English.
Eligible applicants include Ph.D. graduates who, by the beginning of the Fellowship received their Ph.D. degree from the CEU or an OSUN-CIVICA institution and advanced (e.g. ABD all but dissertation) Ph.D. candidates from the institutions mentioned above.

Application material should include the following for all applicants:
- Motivation letter,
- Resume (CV),
- Teaching Philosophy Statement (1,000 words),
- List of the desired course(s),
- One Letter of Reference (or Letter of Endorsement) (see details below),
- Preliminary acceptance letter from the University of Debrecen (email or scanned copy).
Applicants who are PhD Candidates at the time of application:
- Endorsement or Reference Letter from the Supervisor (email or scanned copy),
- or Endorsement or Reference Letter from the Head of Doctoral Program (email or scanned copy).
Applicants who are PhD graduates:
- One Letter of Reference (or Letter of Endorsement) (email or scanned copy).
From OSUN, CIVICA graduates:
- One Letter of Reference (email or scanned copy),
- English language proficiency minimum level C1 – if the Ph.D. studies were not conducted in the English language.
Applicants from CIVICA will get a double affiliation in Budapest, with this host institution for teaching, and the CEU Democracy Institute as a host institution for research activities.
CIVICA GTFP Fellows will have a research supervisor at the CEU Democracy Institute. If there is a Faculty member or Researcher at the CEU Democracy Institute who you think would be a good match, please include this in your application.
