OSUN CEU Global Teaching Fellowship Program at the Brac University (BracU), Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Call for applications for the one, two or three semester(s) in the AY 2024/2025, in Fall 2024 (August – December 2024), and/or Spring 2025 (January to June 2025). Brac School of Law and School of Pharmacy, operates with two semesters in an academic year; the remaining insitutes and schools (https://www.bracu.ac.bd/academics/institutes-and-schools) operate with three semesters in an academic year. The minimal length of a Fellowship is one semester.

The Brac University (BracU) invites applications for Global Teaching Fellowships to teach at BracU, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The successful applicant will teach introductory and advanced courses in the field(s) of Social Sciences, Business Administration, Philosophy, Psychology, Anthropology and Sociology (expertise in the Global South), and Environment and Humanities, Comparative Literature, Human Rights, Legal Studies, Political Science, Social Entrepreneurship, and expertise teaching and learning with an opportunity of an additional course in Research Methodology.

Eligible applicants include Ph.D. graduates who received their Ph.D. degree from the CEU or a relevant OSUN or CIVICA member institution within the last two years and advanced (e.g. ABD all but dissertation) Ph.D. candidates.

The successful candidates will teach up to two courses (see fields above, one course in one of the Fields and one course in Research Methodology), which will be set by the Institute or Department of BracU, in agreement with the Fellow. The Fellow will also have the possibility to offer one course on his/her special area of expertise, in coordination with the department. The language of instruction is English. Candidates should discuss the Syllabus of their specialized course with their supervisor and the department at BracU in advance.

Successful candidates will receive an honorarium from CEU to support the expenses of the Fellowship (a one-time travel expense (location-Dhaka-location), health insurance, accommodation and living costs) will be funded.

Applicants who are Ph.D. Candidates at the time of application:

  • Endorsement letter from the Supervisor (email or scanned copy),
  • or Endorsement letter from the Head of the Doctoral Program (email or scanned copy).

Applicants who are CEU Ph.D. graduates:

  • One Letter of Reference (email or scanned copy) from an academic of their choice.

From OSUN, CIVICA applicants:

  • One Letter of Reference (email or scanned copy - see details abve),
  • English language proficiency minimum level C1 – if the Ph.D. studies were not conducted in the English language.
