Agnes Leyrer is Senior Academic Cooperation Officer at Central European University, focusing on the development of strategic international partnerships with international higher education institutions. Agnes has been working at CEU since 2014.

Areas of work:

  • Establishing and maintaining academic cooperation agreements with higher education institutions internationally
  • Setting up student exchange agreements with renown international universities
  • Managing Erasmus Bi-lateral Agreements in Europe and neighboring countries
  • Working in CIVICA as Manager of Work Package 2 - Establishing a European Inter-university Campus
  • Supervising the management of the CEU Global Teaching Fellowship Program, and the Global Teaching Fellowship Program Officer. GTFP provides the possibility for advanced CEU doctoral candidates and recent graduates to teach at partner institutions in the OSUN Network and beyond
  • Supervising the OSUN Graduate Student Mobility Program Officer at ACRO, setting up Student Mobility Agreements and funding procedures
  • Representing CEU at International Higher Education Conferences, advocating for academic freedom

Previous Experience:

Agnes has served the European international higher education community as a volunteer member of the Professional Development Committee of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), 2018 - 2022

Prior to working at CEU Agnes held positions which gave her a diverse insight into European Higher Education: as private partner through ETS Global – Educational Testing Service in The Netherlands and France (2009-2014); as Student representative through the Board of AEGEE – European Students’ Forum in Belgium (2013-2014); as MA Programme Coordinator at ISES-Corvinus University in Kőszeg (2011-2013)
