Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme

The Education, Audiovisual and Cultural Executive Agency (EACEA) of European Commission has just launched a new call for applications to the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme.

The program aims to improve the skills and competences of students and staff through enhanced intra-African mobility and to strengthen cooperation between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Africa thus increasing access to quality education and encouraging and enabling African students to undertake postgraduate studies in the African continent.

This Call for proposals is open to the following fields of study:

  1. Agriculture and Food Security
  2. Engineering including Infrastructure and Energy
  3. Education Sciences
  4. Health Sciences
  5. Marine Sciences and the Blue Economy
  6. Social Sciences and Governance

Eligible activities (summary):

  • Organization and implementation of study mobility in high quality MA and PhD programs
  • Provision of education/training and other services to foreign students,
  • Teaching/training, research assignments and other services to staff from the countries covered by the project

Eligible applicant:

Partnership of minimum 4 - maximum 6 HEIs of Africa and 1 HEI from EU as technical partner (which is an obligatory requirement). Technical partner must be in possession of an Erasmus Charter (CEU does have), cannot coordinate the partnership, but can contribute to the work of the partnership.

Expected grant amount:  1-1.5 million euro per project; 7-9 successful consortia are foreseen.

The submission deadline for the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme is 15 June 2016 at 12.00 (noon).
