Erasmus Staff Training Week 2018
CEU ERASMUS STAFF TRAINING WEEK
25 – 29 JUNE, 2018
UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIPS IN SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES
Central European University organised it's third Erasmus Staff Training event this year. As a graduate university with a strong focus on Social Sciences and Humanities, and with a long list of academic and research collaborations worldwide, the focus of the event was higher education partnerships in the mentioned areas.
The week began with an introduction to the latest developments in the internationalisation strategies of universities with programs in social sciences and humanities in Central-Eastern Europe. In the afternoon of the first day the participants were invited to learn more about Budapest by taking a Danube river cruise.
The next days the program included in-depth discussions and analyses about key elements of university partnerships and internationalization:
- Cooperation frameworks such as Erasmus+ within and outside of Europe. The participants learned about Hungarian initiatives in higher education, which can boost the internationalisation efforts of their institutions.
- International research collaboration management under the European Commission's Horison 2020 Program, where the participants had the chance to exchange best practices on how to communicate research results to the public.
- Student experience enhancement - as student exchanges and international students mobility are essential elements of academic partnerships, a whole day (Thursday) was dedicated to the international student cycle and to the best approaches to ensuring a great experience for students.
The program included presentations and group discussions led by CEU experts and invited guest speakers.
