Call for Applications - Hogeschool Utrecht
The International Communication and Media (ICM) Study Program at Hogeschool Utrecht invites applications for Lecturers of Entrepreneurship and Technology, and Lecturers of Applied Research for the Academic Year 2017/2018.
The position requires teaching (two) courses on undergraduate level in English. The teaching concerns both theory and practice of research in the broadest sense. Experience with lecturing Statistics, knowledge of SPSS and online research are an asset.
1. Lecturer Applied Research
Courses to be taught on Rearch Analysis and Toolkit, as well as Online Research and Big Data, and Project Media Research. Didactic experience with Statistics as well as Research are preferred. Experience with doing online research and big data are an asset. HU has various research courses on offer; the vacancy concerns courses in the first and second year.
2. Lecturer Entrepreneurship/Technology
Strong affinity with technology, with an eye for innovation. Able to challenge students to experiment with technology. Preferably experience with teaching technology at a more abstract level (future scenario’s, trends, social media, digital marketing). Able to link the social, economic, ethical and social consequences of technology. Applicants for this position should be commercially aware and profit focused (profit can also be in terms of happiness), and able to inspire students to think innovatively and in terms of results. “You are able to build up and maintain a network. You know how to get funding for the business, either via bank, backers or Investment Angels; you know about innovative profit models.”

“Cross mediality and the creative industry are the central themes of our faculty. Our activities in that respect are state-of-the-art, both for education and research. ICM is an international programme with a widely diverse population and 40% of the students have an international background. Students are taught in all aspects of (marketing)communication and media, including research.
About the working environment
You will work for the team of International Communication and Media (ICM). ICM is a steadily growing study programme, taught in English. You will have approximately 50 colleagues, teaching a student population of approx. 1060. ICM has a truly international students' and lecturers' population.
You will receive a contract for six months (D4), with a competitive salary for a minimum of 0.5 fte and a maximum of 1.0 fte.
The call is open to current CEU doctoral candidates beyond their 3rd year of studies, and recent doctoral graduates who earned their PhD-degree in a relevant field of study in the last two academic years. GTFP’s rules and regulations apply.
