Call for Applications Babes-Bolyai University - Faculty of Sociology Fall 2022 and AY 2022/2023

The call is open to CEU and CIVICA member institution (CIVICA Members are: SciencesPo, France; European University Institute, Italy; Bocconi University, Italy; Hertie School, Germany; SNSPA, Romania; Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden; London School of Economics, UK and CEU, Hungary/Austria) doctoral candidates and doctoral graduates who have earned a PhD in relevant fields in 2021, or in 2022 before August. Only international GTFP mobilities will be supported.

The Department of SociologyFaculty of Sociology and Social Work at Babes-Bolyai University (UBB) invites applications for Global Teaching Fellowships to teach at UBB, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, for one academic semester (September - January 2022) or one academic year 2022/2023. The successful applicant will teach introductory and advanced courses.

Eligible applicants include graduates who received their PhD degree from the CEU within the last two years and advanced (post-fieldwork) PhD candidates in Sociology and Social Anthropology at the CEU or a CIVICA member institution.

The successful candidates will teach up to two courses, which will be set by the Department of Sociology at UBB, in agreement with the Fellow. The Fellow will also have the possibility to offer one course on his/her special area of expertise, in coordination with the department. The language of teaching should be English. Candidates should discuss the Syllabus of their specialized course with their supervisor and the department at UBB in advance.

Successful candidates will receive a honorarium from UBB in accordance with the standard rates for teaching at UBB, with a contribution from CEU covering living costs while in Cluj-Napoca.

Two positions are open. The first successful candidate will receive free accommodation on campus at UBB. The second successful candidate will benefit at request from subsidized accommodation on campus at UBB.

 Successful candidates from non-EU countries should comply with national visa regulations and are strongly advised to contact UBB for more specific information on visa issues and the other bureaucratic aspects of the fellowship.
