Call for Applications - Closed Calls 2019/20

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia, is looking for two Global Teaching Fellows, one specialized in International Relations/Political Science, the other in Sociology.

The fellowships are for the whole academic year 2019/20 (from the end of September 2019 until mid-July 2020). The Fellows would teach two-three courses and would supervise two-three students per semester (the exact load will be discussed case by case).

The call is open to CEU doctoral graduates with the PhD obtained between 2017 and summer 2019 (before the start of the fellowship). Successful applicants will receive a competitive salary (paid by Ilia State University) and money for travel and medical insurance (covered by CEU).

The CEU Global Teaching Fellowship Program at American University of Central Asia (AUCA) located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, is inviting applications for the AY 2019/2020 for teaching positions in the following programs/departments:

1. LawBusiness Law courses (IBT, WTO, Arbitration), as well as Legal skills, Legal Writing, Legal analysis, Research and Writing, Legal Research.

2. Sociology - the following courses: Behavioral Statistics or SPSS, Qualitative Research Methods, Research and Writing Colloquium – MA level

3. International Comparative Politics – courses in the areas of Comparative Politics and/or International Relations (Intro to IR, Intro to Political Economy, Intro to Comparative Politics)

4. MA in Central Asian Studies - the following courses: Post-Soviet Politics, Identity and Migration in Central Asia, Intro to Central Asian Studies

The fellowships are for the whole academic year 2019/20 (10 months - August to May). Fellows who will have not received the PhD by the beginning of AY 2019/20 can teach maximum two courses/semester. Those who already have the PhD might be required to teach 3 courses/semester. CEU Global Teaching Fellows are also expected to contribute to the academic life of the community, advise students and participate in talks and other departmental activities.

Eligibility: CEU doctoral candidates beyond their 3rd year of studies and doctoral graduates who have earned their PhD no earlier than 2017.

Al Quds Bard College for the Arts and Sciences (AQB), located in Abu Dis, Palestine, is seeking applicants for the Global Teaching Fellowship Program 2019/2020.

In its 10th year of operation, AQB is an innovative program introducing a liberal arts undergraduate education to the West Bank, with a current enrollment of about 275 students. AQB is a rigorous program, culminating in a two-semester independent senior project which features original thought and research. Graduates of AQB receive dual degrees: a baccalaureate degree from al-Quds University and another from Bard College, Annandale.

For AY 2019/20 AQB is seeking CEU Teaching Fellows in the following areas:

Economics

Human Rights

Political Science

Urban Studies

Humanities (History, Medieval Studies, etc.)

The fellowship is for the whole academic year 2019/20 (10 months - August to May). The fellows will teach a load of two courses, with the possibility of one course in the Core Curriculum (First or Second Year Seminar). Global Teaching Fellows are also expected to contribute to the academic life of the community, advise students, and participate in talks and other departmental activities.
